SURVEY says (breastfeeding parents weigh in on their top struggles with managing a stash of breastmilk)

Having traveled and pumped for my two exclusively breastfed babies for 28 months now, many of the details come second nature. During 2017, I’ve fundamentally enjoyed helping some of you newer MAMMAs get started. Way more than I ever expected to! From sharing a simple pack list to 1-on-1 consultations, I hope I was able to help ease some of that pre-travel stress and get that liquid gold back home to your babies.

Above and beyond the travel itself, the engineer in me has also been working to fix how we manage that stash once back home. That’s where your survey results come in. From that survey, in just a very short time, I’ve learned that:

• 85% of you use exclusively breastmilk (WOW! great job!)
• 1/3 of you mess with a freezer stash for a day or so
• and clearly the biggest problem (purple bar) plaguing breastfeeding parents is the frustration with freezer space to manage the stash of breastmilk!

Solidarity fist bump! So just in case you haven’t heard it yet today, your body makes gold. You’re nothing shy of awesome.
It was also strangely comforting to see the kinds of similar frustrations that we are all facing... But even more exciting to be able to tell you that we’re well on our way to solving these!

We’re still in a ninja secret mode until the paperwork gets straightened but I’m looking forward to 2018 and being able to share it with you all! So don’t forget to share this page with your Sister that’s pregnant, or your Friend that just had a baby, or keep me in mind as soon as your Wife gets pregnant with your next one. You just never know when MAMMA might need to go AWAY!
